Aggressive acquisition of grants is funding over $7 million in utility expansions in all populated areas around Byhalia, including the Chickasaw Trails Industrial Park. Grants and external funding support restoration of the historic Byhalia High School for use as the Town Hall and a community center, as well as renovation of the school’s gymnasium. Reflecting the growth of the area, town sales tax receipts have increased by 500% while ad valorem tax receipts improved by 1,000%.
