2016 Board Member of the Year
The nominations made for this year’s Board Member of the Year included that they have exhibited the willingness to step up and volunteer.
This year’s recipient has a varied background with administration and leadership roles. She likes to know HOW to perform tasks in the volunteer role but she dissects it to the WHY we perform. She stated “When you know the WHY, you have a greater respect for the process which benefits all those around you.”
This past year, this board member stepped up in two ways: To chair the Sounds of Summer Festival and by Chairing the Financial Committee. She came to the January board meeting with questions and suggestions on the Budget..this showed us that she takes her jobs seriously. A good thing!
This year’s recipient is employed by CHAMPION AWARDS where they work everyday helping business be the best they can be with marketing and advertising. They are known worldwide for donating and volunteering with many non-profits and charities in the Mid-South Area.
Sarah Kinkade works as a Promotional Products Manager for Champion Awards in Memphis. She has gone through the Leadership Memphis program. Sarah has qualifications in organizational skills, problem solving, program development and most of all, a team player.
Something that many don’t know about Sarah…she has an associates degree in culinary arts. We hear she bakes a “mean cheesecake”
Sarah lives in Byhalia with her husband, Shawn and two children. She has the Byhalia area in her heart and soul. It shows. She is the daughter of State Representative Bill and Debbie Kinkade.
We appreciate Sarah’s steady personality and her ability to get things done for the betterment of the chamber and community.
CONGRATULATIONS TO Sarah Kinkade…BOARD MEMBER OF THE YEAR.
